Overview

Create and manage your product and service catalog. This is the foundation of your inventory system.

Creating a Product

Step 1: Access Product Creation

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click "Create New Product"
  3. You will see the product creation form

Step 2: Enter Product Details

  • Product Name: Name of the product
  • Product Code: Unique identifier (SKU)
  • Barcode: Product barcode
  • Category: Product category
  • Description: Detailed description

Step 3: Set Pricing

  • Cost Price: What you paid for the product
  • Selling Price: What you sell it for
  • Tax Category: Tax applicable to this product
  • Discount Allowed: Maximum discount percentage

Step 4: Configure Inventory

  • Track Inventory: Enable inventory tracking
  • Reorder Level: Minimum stock level
  • Reorder Quantity: Quantity to order when low
  • Unit of Measure: How product is measured (pieces, kg, etc.)

Step 5: Save Product

  • Review all entered information
  • Click "Create Product"
  • Product is added to your catalog

Product Types

Inventory Products

Physical products that are tracked in inventory.

  • Tracked by quantity
  • Stock levels updated on sales
  • Reorder alerts available

Services

Non-physical services that are not tracked in inventory.

  • Not tracked by quantity
  • Billed by time or project
  • No stock management

Bundles

Combinations of products sold together.

  • Contain multiple products
  • Sold as a single unit
  • Stock tracked for each component

Managing Products

Editing Products

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click on the product to edit
  3. Modify the product details
  4. Click "Save Changes"

Deactivating Products

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click on the product
  3. Click "Deactivate"
  4. Product will no longer appear in sales forms

Deleting Products

  • You can only delete products with no transactions
  • Deactivate products instead of deleting
  • Deleted products cannot be recovered

Product Categories

Creating Categories

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click "Categories"
  3. Click "Create New Category"
  4. Enter category name and description
  5. Click "Save"

Organizing Products

  • Assign products to categories
  • Use categories for reporting
  • Filter products by category
  • Set category-specific pricing

Pricing

Price Lists

  • Create different price lists for different customers
  • Set prices by customer type
  • Apply volume discounts
  • Set seasonal pricing

Price Management

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click on the product
  3. Click "Pricing"
  4. Modify prices as needed
  5. Click "Save"

Barcodes

Barcode Setup

  • Assign barcodes to products
  • Use standard barcode formats
  • Print barcode labels
  • Scan barcodes for quick entry

Generating Barcodes

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Select products
  3. Click "Generate Barcodes"
  4. Print barcode labels

Product Attributes

Adding Attributes

  • Size, color, style
  • Variants of the same product
  • Track variants separately

Managing Variants

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click on the product
  3. Click "Variants"
  4. Add or modify variants
  5. Set prices for each variant

Bulk Operations

Importing Products

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click "Import Products"
  3. Upload CSV or Excel file
  4. Map columns to product fields
  5. Click "Import"

Exporting Products

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click "Export Products"
  3. Select export format
  4. Click "Download"

Bulk Price Update

  1. Go to "Inventory" > "Products"
  2. Click "Bulk Update"
  3. Select products
  4. Enter new prices or adjustments
  5. Click "Update"
